Im richtigen Licht

About the project

For this special project, I had the opportunity to meet 52 people from two workshops for people with disabilities. The idea was to give a face and a voice to people who are often overlooked and invisible in society.

As a photographer, I have been very fortunate to discover many places unknown to me and meet new people throughout my life. Rarely have I come to a place where the people were so warm and open, where I was so honestly and genuinely accepted as a person. A place full of life, joy, genuine people, and inspiring stories, where the little things are often more important than anything else. On the first day of shooting, I stood in the workshop, admittedly a little nervous, and the first people waited with excitement and curiosity to have their pictures taken with me. The nervousness was quickly replaced by a feeling of joy and happiness.. It was remarkable how quickly I was given a great amount of trust and how quickly a connection developed. My motto for this project was: “I don't want to have photos of what the person looks like, but rather create and capture a moment that highlights the personality and uniqueness of the person.” The photos were taken in a relaxed atmosphere, with the subjects feeling comfortable and at one with themselves.

During the process, I had the privilege of meeting 52 “exceptionally ordinary” people. Together, we laughed, mourned, reflected, philosophized, and discussed life. In this short time, I learned so much more about life, was able to expand my horizons, understand new ways of thinking and perspectives, and learn to see the world through different eyes.

A very special thank you goes to Dr. Ausbüttel, who initiated this project and gave me the opportunity to implement it in close and trusting cooperation. The finished pictures were exhibited in the workshops and I designed a high-quality illustrated book from the project.

“In the end, what counts is that one moment when everything comes together: light, mood, composition, for a story that lasts.”

About

For over a decade, photography and film have been my tools for understanding the world. What began as a hobby with my first camera has now become my language — my way of telling stories that reveal more than just the surface.

My focus is on genuine moments. Stories, details, moods that cannot be planned and yet define the whole. Whether with people, in the automotive world, or while traveling, the key is to make my vision visible and take my viewers on an emotional and exiting journey.

Purity and reduction characterize my work. Composition, light, and lens choice are more important to me than strong effects or trends. My images should be enduring – timeless, direct, and honest. When people open up, they reveal sides of themselves that remain untouched and that is precisely where images with depth are created. Especially in portrait photography, this creates a closeness that requires trust.

Curiosity keeps my work alive.  New cultures, different perspectives, unfamiliar surroundings – I am always on the lookout for new experiences so that every project is an adventure that challenges me.

Over the past few years, I have had the privilege traveling the world and working with a wide range of international clients and leading companies such as Porsche, Brabus, and Dr. Ausbüttel, collaborating closely with them to deliver exceptional projects.
